The Official 8 Pines Mule (indy.lovejoyful) crushed all competition on Monday night with a dominating run on the WPG Deer Run Steeple course. The win marks Mule’s first blue ribbon of the season, a nice addition to Mule’s already impressive collection.
In fact, the Mule was so fast that she generated some controversy. On her tenth run, Mule posted a blistering 51.55 speed, shattering the previous course record on a run that was flawless in every detail. The Mule’s speed was so shocking that the event host, who is German, disregarded the run for fear of making the other racers feel bad. Despite that absurd and stupid decision, Mule still won the race with a second-best run of 52.15, far faster than the other 34 ponies who competed.
“I am thrilled that our very own 8 Pines Mule won this race,” said Stable Mistress Winnie (winnie.sweetwater). “On terrain, no one can match the Mule for speed,” she added. When asked about how she felt about the victory, the Mule grumbled something about “slow ponies” before training for the next race. Full results are below:
