The Official 8 Pines Mule (indy.lovejoyful) crushed all competition on Monday night with a dominating run on the WPG Deer Run Steeple course. The win marks Mule’s first blue ribbon of the season, a nice addition to Mule’s already impressive collection. In fact, the Mule was so fast that she generated some controversy. On her tenth run, Mule posted a blistering 51.55 speed, shattering the previous course record on a run that was flawless in every detail. Congratulations to all the ponies who competed in the Rum Runner barrels race at 8 Pines! This challenging course is the first event in the Mule’s Challenge Series. “It’s great to see so many new faces, even Aria,” said Stable Mistress Winnie Sweetwater. Elsewhere, Mule (lovejoyful.resident) was seen muttering and grumbling that so many ponies entered in the race (as opposed to mules). Ahoy mateys! This week 8 Pines hosted a barrel race on the infamous “Rum Runner” course. The race is part of a series called “Mule’s Challenge,” unique because while practice time is almost unlimited, each pony is allowed to take only five runs during the actual race. The Rum Runner course is a 13-barrel route with a 360-degree lynchpin. It’s polo season! 8 Pines is hosting a public polo practice at 6pm SLT every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights throughout the season.
